Today, Wednesday, Sept. 15 is National Jobs Emergency Day and a rally will take place at Montpelier City Hall from noon til 1pm.

The rally will call on Congress to:



Recognize the jobs emergency in the nation and pass the Local Jobs For America Act.

Extend the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families emergency fund jobs subsidies program.



Extend unemployment insurance.

Renew the country’s infrastructure by creating a national infrastructure bank.

And that Wall St. must be made to pay their fair share for the economic collapse they created through a tax on financial speculation which would be aimed at raising $200–$500 billion every year.

With 8 days to go, I’m not going to wait for your posts or comments on something (with all due respect, donchaknow)–need to ask this now:

How do you stand, Senators Barlett & Shumlin, on our current ‘police actions’ (Wars) in Afghanistan & Iraq, and what, as Governor of Vermont, will you do to influence national policy on this issue, and effect some relief for Vermont National Guard members and their families and friends?

Now, of the five Dem gov candidates, Racine is the only one to have answered this guestion so far, saying he opposes these wasteful wars and their impact on our economy and government services.  So…hope you will both respond.

Vermont National Guard members and their families and friends are part of the Vermont Community.  And they VOTE.
