UPDATE: Republican abortion vote fails.
Not what I thought happenetd, but here's the report from Talking Points Memo:

As we saw a couple of years ago in Wisconsin, the Texas Senate President is ramming through a draconian anti-abortion bill by means of bogus parliamentary maneuvers, and the crowd in the gallery is refusing to sit still for it.
We'll see if the demonstrators will recognize the end of the session or continue to sit in, which in Wisconsin is really what gave rise to the Occupy movement.
In addition, the Republicans falsified the time of the vote in the computer system that reports the legislative record.
There were two sources of proof of their falsification: screencaps and photos.
Since the vote occurred after midnight, and therefore after the deadline, it was not a valid vote.
They were planning to pretend the vote had passed on time, until the Herald told them that they had photos of the printouts with both the legitimate and the falsified timestamps, and made very clear what story they planned to run if the weasels tried to get away with their fraud. After they presented the proof, the weasels gave up, and admitted to the falsification, restoring the record to the correct time. It was a fascinating event to watch.
in session on this July 1.

The GREAT state, as they call it, will be a whole lot less tolerant of folks deciding to occupy their statehouse than Wisconsin ever was. Wonder if a run for the border is still an effective tool?
