(Perfectly sensible. – promoted by kestrel9000)
As you know, there is a major storm coming at us. As it rolls up the east coast, I’m concerned about the thousands of campaign yard signs that are lining our roadways. If high, sustained winds grab hold of all those corrugated sheets of plastic, they will end up deep in our environment for decades to come.
As the person who spearheaded the drive by the Rotary club of Lyndonville to clean up the Passumpsic River, I’d really hate to see us politicians contributing to polluting it again. Ditto for every other river in this state.
As a result, I’m calling on all of my supporters, all Republican candidates and all of my opponents to remove their signs until the storm has passed. I’m delivering the same message to the Republican party. Tomorrow I will dedicate my radio ad time urging the public to do likewise. I’ve also sent out a message to my friends Philip Baruth and Anthony Pollina challenging them to bring this message to their Democratic and Progressive colleagues. I’d like to think we can all work together to take a proactive stand in protecting our environment.
Please ask folks to remove their signs until the storm has passed. We can go back to playing politics when the skies clear. Thanks.

and won’t go up again until the day after Halloween.
We took our not-stolen-yet ones in this afternoon. I hope others will do the same.
