Howard Dean on voting:

“The vote,” he often says, “gets you a C. If you're going to be a citizen you've got to do a hell of a lot more than vote.”

2011 version:

“I tried to get in, but it was a zoo, so I gave up,” Dean said Thursday. “I stood in line for about 15 minutes. The line didn’t move. It was about 400 people long, and I just didn’t go in.

“Which now, of course, I regret.”

  1. “All voting is a sort of gaming, like checkers or backgammon, with a slight moral tinge to it, a playing with right and wrong, with moral questions; and betting naturally accompanies it…Even voting for the right is doing nothing for it. It is only expressing to men feebly your desire that it should prevail.”

A vote is a C.  OWS is an A.  Not voting is an F.
