It’s official: Fox News makes you stupid

By way of TPM, here’s a recent survey that says it all. From the first paragraph, emphasis added:

The conclusion:Sunday morning news shows do the most to help people learn about current events, while some outlets, especially Fox News, lead people to be even less informed than those who they don’t watch any news at all.

  1. …something about watching Fox News that leads people to do worse on these questions than those who don’t watch any news at

But why ? Why? Why would anyone design a news network that left people ill informed ?

Hey, let’s ask President Sarah Palin or President Rick Perry or President Donald Trump or President Michelle Bachmann or President Joe the Plumber. Maybe they’ll explain it to us.

    Where’s the remote?

  2. Fox is an ideological advocacy infotainment network.  Their hilariously titled “news” programs are faux reality shows that barely mask their corrupt lies.

I’m not convinced that Fox’s Republican Tea Party infotainment dumbed-down broadcasts make people Stoopedier. The egg probably DOES come before the chicken in this situation.

Watchers of this dreck are a self-selected group of morons. Seriously, can anyone descibe this fact in a more objective light?  I think you need to be dumber than a bucket of hair to seek out Fox’s dissembling propaganda and outright lies.  It’s hardly a surprise that the morons who actively and uncritically seek out propaganda, which feeds their ignorance, are already, in fact, ignoramuses.

Let’s not dance around the obvious folks, you need to be a dumbshit to voluntarily click on Fox and think you are receiving fact-based information — much less anything resembling its Orwellian depicted “fair and balanced” claim.
