Why doesn’t he just make it official?

The reprehensible Harold Ford once again comes down on the side of Republicans today. He has an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal about jobs, or allegedly about jobs, and he takes the opportunity to parrot the Republican myth that regulations are the obstacle to job creation.

Former U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln has argued forcefully in favor of an independent review process for proposed regulations. If the costs outweigh the benefits, they shoulhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifd be eliminated. In the meantime, a moratorium on new regulations that don’t immediately protect public safety is a reasonable step that could be taken until our economy gets back on its feet.

I don’t know why Ford doesn’t just make it official and stop pretending to be a Democrat.

  1. I don’t know why [insert name of any Democrat here] doesn’t just make it official and stop pretending to be a Democrat.

I say the same thing about Obama, Clinton, and Leahy.

Leahy’s latest pro-far-right legislation is the awful ‘PROTECT-IP’ Act where your website gets shut down if you link to another website that might possibly have posted another’s copyrighted video.  No proof is required, the default as written into the law is to shut down websites first and not allow them to appeal.

GMD would be shut down immediately because of the embedded video clips here to which GMD can not prove either copyright ownership or permission of the copyright holders to post such a link.

This US law is to be enforced globally.  It makes no difference where in the world you reside, or where your website is served from.  If you post one single frame of any movie, or one note of any song, your website is closed forever and your name goes on a blacklist that will prevent you from ever having any web presence ever again.

Leahy is a moderate Republican, it is time be stopped pretending to be a Democrat.
