I’ve seen heron nestlings but only in Florida.
Last week on the Interstate on my way in to Burlington at a place I’d seen her before, I saw a turkey by the side of the highway, shuffling around, not fazed in the least by the high-speed traffic. Then there were at least four less-than-half-grown birds at her feet. I’d never seen baby turkeys until then.
