Atheist takeover? Inshallah

Newt Gingrich (pbuh) explains the likely outcome of an atheist takeover of the United States:

“I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American.”

No understanding of what it once meant to be an American? Is that as bad as no understanding of what it means to be an atheist or a Muslim?

(I had to get this post up before April Fool's Day!)

  1. I cannot wait for the Republican presidential race to get into full swing. There will be nothing better for the GOP brand name to have their biggest names duking it out for top wingnut.

  2. and the other Republicans running for president back in the spent fool storage pool before they overheat.

  3. Insha’Allah.

Sorry, I probably shouldn’t snark on something like that, but really there is a ‘hamza’ or glottal stop between ‘insha’ and ‘Allah.’

  4. A secular atheist country… dominated by radical Islamists

Which is like what? a nudist colony controlled by Levis?  Vegan pig farmers?  Luddite bloggers?  no taxes for the rich to save the poor?

When Newt and the right can intelligently describe the correlation between atheism, socialism, communism, liberal-capitalist policy (Obama) as well as how Libya is somehow worse than Iraq (and how Jaan proves how we should move forward with nuke power) then he and the right are worth engaging.

    Otherwise, fuck ’em.

  5. A secular atheist country… dominated by radical Islamists

Nothing more than fear-mongering to get the churches fired up.

It can’t be both. If America is dominated by radical Islamists, it would be closer to a theocracy.

That’s quite a stretch. If Christian evangelicals have been unable to reign in the wayward, I find it hard to believe a surge in radical Islam will be any more successful since it is trading an already fundamentalist belief for an extremist ideology & even more restrictive one.

It does make it clear who is being targeted here, religious right. Sheepled churchgoers who will swallow anything that comes down the pike. Southern Baptists wouldn’t have far to go, they’re already borderline Taliban.

  6. what people will say when they know that the majority of their base has the critical thinking skills of a tree frog. Just wait till the 2012 GOP freakshow gets underway. Pass the popcorn.

They say these things because they know they can.

  7. “…no understanding of what it once meant to be an American.”???  Well, guess that makes Newt & Company Islamic atheists.

I’m getting fighting mad about all these shitheads defining what it means to be an American.  These bastards are traitors to what it once meant to be an American.  And in a time of 3 wars too!  If these fuckers worked for al-Qaeda, they couldn’t do more to destroy this country.  Send ’em to Gitmo!

  8. This is a perfect example of Republican DoubleThink.

Author George Orwell coined the term DoubleThink is his book ‘1984’ which has since become the Republican Party Operation Manual.  Orwell describes DoubleThink as fervently believing two opposing ideas at the same time.  His famous example was 2+2=4 AND 2+2=5.  To be a good Party member, you must believe in both at the same time and see no incongruity.

Newt is a Republican master at DoubleThink, and the American People are brainwashed to not recognize DoubleThink and if they do, to ignore it completely.  If you vote Republican then you accept DoubleThink, indeed it is  mandatory in order to vote for a Republican.  Every Republican politician gets your vote by feeding you DoubleThink, and you signal your acceptance by voting for them.

Newt said, “a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists”

The DoubleThink is evidenced by the oxymoron.  A secular atheist dominated by an extreme religion.  The idea itself is absurd on it’s face, but everyone that votes Republican accepts these lies as an essential part of the package.

Because no Republican would ever get elected without unquestioning DoubleThink, outright lies and deception.  All of you that vote for Republicans are also agreeing to that.

Yes, I know that some of you readers vote for in-state Republicans, and you claim that it’s the ‘good’ Republicans that you are voting for.  And for the most part here in the state, the Republicans we have aren’t the crazy Movement Conservatives.  But that is a lame excuse.  Because Movement Conservatives control the GOP nationally, and every Republican vote is counted as accepting Movement Conservatism – even when that is not the case.  By voting for moderate ‘old-school’ Republicans your vote is being counted by the national GOP as endorsing the insane, anti-American Movement Conservative Republicans.
