  1. We have 3 voters in our household (myself, my husband and my mother) and we’ve gotten every combination except 1 envelope addressed to the 3 of us. And yes, I notice every time how much postage they are wasting and/or which voter(s) they are excluding.

  2. The only campaign material I’ve gotten this season so far is one postcard from Leahy and two from the progressive-democrat-who-gives-to-Dubie Laura Moore. No one else, and no phone calls at all, thankfully.

  3. “The first gubernatorial candidate that can household . . . may well get my vote.”

That may well be the carrot that gets a gubernatorial campaign to “householding” their GOTV list.

  4. I just ran a sample search in Votebuilder and it looks as though it handled householding.

  5. …does this proposal also include some way for people NOT to be “householded” (ye gads — must we massacre the language to this extent???)?  I can think of several situations in which combinations of adult voters would prefer that each get his/her own mail and would not enjoy having a presumption made about their mail-sharing just because they’re under the same roof.

I’m really in favor of waste reduction, mind you — so much so that I don’t want even the candidates I support to clutter up my mailbox — but it seems to me people should be asked, even if in the form of an opt-out-if-you-DON’T-want your mail-bundled notice.

  6. I just got back from vacation, and we naturally got a lot of campaign mail.

Some of the mailers had the two of us together, some sent one for each of us.
