- Brian Dubie reported $943,960.72 to date and has spent $455,116.18 leaving $488,844.54 on hand.
- The Democratic candidates combined have raised a staggering $1,491,404.35, indicating a lot of financial support among a lot of people to turn the Governor’s office Democratic. As long as the losing candidates open up their fundraising lists for the winner, the Democratic nominee should be able to compete fine financially when it counts.
- In the Lieutenant Governor’s race, Democrat Steve Howard reported $50,804.17 raised. Republicans Phil Scott and Mark Snelling reported $47,458.85 and $78,906.80 respectively. Democrat Chris Bray did not file a report by the deadline.
- In the Auditor’s race, incumbent Tom Salmon has raised a paltry $10475, which isn’t appreciably more than newly announced relative political unknown, Democrat Doug Hoffer who reported $8135. Democrat Ed Flanagan reported no fundraising, but has a $27,087.15 rollover from his previous campaigns.
- Secretary of State reports will be forthcoming, as well as more detailed analysis by the various GMD front pagers as emails, scans and musings have been in a little more circulation.

Good for Steve Howard. It’s got to be tough to compete with all the Dem Gub candidates for contribution $. I was really curious about how much more then Chris Bray he had raised though. Not a good reflection on Bray’s campaign! Is there any penalty for not filing a report?
I got my first email solicitation (“ask” in the parlance) from Chris Bray yesterday, that is, a single day before the filing deadline. And the amount of the ask was $10, payable electronically.
It’s an interesting contest, that one. Steve Howard sounds all the right rabble-rousing grassroots organizer notes in his rhetoric. And he’s quick enough on his feet to come back in the heat of a debate, should the Republican candidate or a moderator throw him a curve ball. But I don’t necessarily get a sense that he knows how to make those things happen as Lt. Gov. Bray doesn’t have a particularly strong personality, which would seem to be a campaign liability, but the programs he’s pushing are practical and detailed, with numbers attached.

what the heck has Where’sBrian spent FOURHUNDREDFIFTYFIVE thousand dollars on??? How much can it cost to avoid a room of third graders and rent a hide out in an undisclosed location to avoid participation in debates on the issues??? Policy research?? “hey Jim, can I borrow that play book”? Campaign staff??? still on the state payroll?? How much can a new pair of scissors cost these days???
Good to see that even the GOP donor base knows enough to stay away from the lightening rod that is Tom Salmon. It’s been a long fall from grace.
Go Doug!
Don’t lose sight of the fact that this is an anti-incumbent year.

While poking around a bit with Brian Dubie’s “Campaign Financial Disclosure Form” a few items jump off the page.
* There’s a Richard Tarrant who files as being from Bedford, NH
* There’s a Marth Rainville who hails from Bethesda, MD
* While the Dubie campaign touts that 91% of its “contributors” hail from Vermont, the total percentage of contributions raised from out-of-staters is significantly higher (22%).
* Out of state contributors on average shelled out $775 while the average Vermont contributor gave less than half that amount at $300.
* A lot of Texan’s seems to have an interest in this race.
(Over $16,000 in contributions so far, 8% of out of state contributions)
* Virginia, DC and Maryland residents have coughed up over $70,000 to date.
(34% of out-of-state contributions)
Anyone else interested in looking at the numbers?
