It’s raining, and hard

ACTION ALERT!!!!!!

GMD has learned that  Doug Racine is  planning on introducing an amendment during third reading of the budget today calling for the use of rainy day funds to close the $20 million budget gap.

Calls to the Sgt-at-Arms (800-322-5616 or 828-2228) with messages for senators to vote yes on the rainy day fund amendment would demonstrate support for that action.   The Senate is scheduled to convene at 10:30.

  1. It is tempting to use email, but don’t do it.  Please call.

Oftentimes legislators do not have time to view email until the end of the day – long past the vote.  When I was at the statehouse for a critical Senate vote, I was amazed at what it felt like to see pink slip after pink slip delivered by each page.

Please call, we all need to see this rainy day fund applied to save critical services.

  2. it’s actually snowing today!

Gutsy move, Doug!  It’s a dirty job, but someone had to do it; and Governor Douglas was content to see all the little folks who voted him into power all these years go down in flames. I wonder what he would consider a legitimate use of the”rainy day reserve?”
