… the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed outside the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. King was on his way to march with sanitation workers demanding a better wage. Later that night in Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert F. Kennedy spoke to the crowd at a campaign rally and delivered an impromptu and moving speech about the day’s tragic events.
